Training Information

The Larkspur Fire Protection District Training Division is managed by Training Officer Rusty Booth. Our firefighters receive training plans each month that cover both Fire and EMS skills. Along with our monthly trainings, LFPD hosts a fire academy for incoming volunteer firefighters.

Fire Academy

The Larkspur Fire Academy occurs once per year and starts the training for our newest volunteer firefighters. The Academy is a 22 week long program, and the recruits graduate with Firefighter 1, HazMat Awareness, HazMat Operations, ICS, and Wildland Firefighter 2 certifications. The recruits train hose movement, nozzle control, extrication, ladder operations, search, and many other skills to prepare them to help protect Larkspurs community. Academy 25-01 graduated in July with 5 new Larkspur firefighters, as well as 2 Palmer Lake and 3 Jackson 105 firefighters.
