Apply For A Burn Permit
Process
Within the Larkspur Fire Protection District (LFPD), all outdoor burning of wood or vegetation requires a permit issued by the LFPD. This applies to fire pits, campfires or agricultural burning. Getting a permit is a two-step process, as you must have your burn pit inspection (location) prior to applying for a burn permit. Policy Change
Our policy on burn permits has recently changed.
If your burn pit has not been inspected prior to 2023, you will need to schedule a burn pit inspection (location) prior to a burn permit being issued. Additionally, there is now a $10.00 fee for a burn permit, however, the permit is good between March 1st of each year without having to request multiple permits for burning.
Please contact Fire Marshal Jeff Hahn, to schedule the pit inspection. We can do the permit for your approved location to burn and the new burn permit on the same day.

Burn Permit Request (Two-Step Process)

If your "Burn Pit" has not yet been inspected in 2024, you will need to schedule a burn pit inspection prior to a burn permit being issued. Either call or e-mail Fire Marshal Jeff Hahn Tuesday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Please contact Fire Marshal Jeff Hahn to schedule the pit inspection. We can do the pit permit for your approved location to burn and the new burn permit on the same day.
