It Doesn't Always Happen to Someone Else!
|
There are many aspects to home fire safety, but the primary goals are to prevent fire, early detection of fire and to safely escape the home should a fire occur. The LFPD recommends that every home be equipped with working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and that your family has an escape plan to evacuate your home in the event of a fire within the house.
From cooking to candles and fireplaces to smoke detectors, the topic of home fire safety is vast. To assist you in making your home less susceptible to an accidental fire, please view the Home Fire Safety Links button in the left hand menu of this website. These links will take you to sites that provide a tremendous amount of information regarding home fire safety.
The LFPD is always available to provide a no-cost, courtesy inspection of your home to alert you to hazards that you may not be aware of. Please call 303-681-3284 and talk to the Fire Marshal to schedule an appointment.
